As the 8th plague is set to commence on Egypt, God reasserts His purpose for Pharaoh’s hardening. “…that I may show these signs of mine among them,” God has been demonstrating the folly of trusting in human leaders, and the idols of men. The Israelite parents are commanded to pass on the story of God’s glory to their children. But Pharaoh demands the women and children be left behind.
